As a young boy growing up in the mountains of New Mexico, Ty was fascinated with stories. In the 4th grade he commandeered his family’s Super 8 camera and began developing skills directing talent, which consisted mainly of his younger brother, pet Dalmatian and toy cars. Fast forward a few decades and some things have changed, while others have not. He still tells stories with images, both stills and motion, and his work has become known for it’s vibrant light, whimsy, playfulness and spontaneity. His authentic ‘real-feeling-moment’ style of capture has been used in campaigns for brands including Toyota, Apple, Budweiser, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Nike and clients love his easy going yet ‘do whatever it takes to get the shot’ attitude. While Portland, Oregon is now home base with wife Kelly and kids Malia and Adam, he still very much likes to play with cars.
